About me

As a kid growing up in the Florida panhandle, I fell in love with animals and the beauty of nature. I’ve always admired the little details that exist in everything around us and how the longer and closer you look at something, the more detail will show itself to you. But I didn’t fully realize how important detail is to our perception of things until I discovered my passion for art. 

Art has been something that I’ve enjoyed since elementary school, but it wasn’t until I started doing dog portraits for friends and family while in college that it became a real hobby. In the first few years, there were many hours spent on this hobby that would wind up crumpled up in the trash, but there were a few that made me proud enough to try my hand at another. In the five or so years since then, I’ve dedicated myself fully to my artwork with a focus on the tiny details that have always fascinated me and that make us us. I will often spend hours tweaking a painting, looking at it from various angles and distances and in different lighting to make sure that it captures the essence of the original as much as is possible. 

I’m always honored to capture a special moment, person, place, or pet and I would love to get to paint yours.
